Crystals and Gems
Crystals and gemstones have been utilized for their metaphysical properties for centuries. Many texts speak of using specific stones for their alchemical and magical properties that they hold. Each stone has it's own physical properties which correlate to their metaphysical properties. As natural crystals form, they embody energies from Mother Earth. I have utilized crystals for 20 years and continue to find new uses for them. Rocks you find - whether its an identifiable stone or not - holds great power and strength as well. After all, they are all formed from the Earth! This is why I believe many are pulled to collect rocks from various locations.
Here are some of the crystals I utilize most frequently. These are stones that everyone can benefit from using and widely versatile.
Amethyst
Corresponding to the Crown chakra, amethyst carries a high spiritual vibration. It has the ability to calm the mind by clearing distractions which in turn decreasing negative emotions. Amethyst cleanses the aura by clearing blockages leading to increased awareness and clarity. This is why it is a perfect stone to use in meditation! As the mind is activated gently, mental focus and a connection to the divine is activated. Wear or carry amethyst to prevent energetic disruptions. Combine with other metaphysical items to add insight and inspiration to the purpose. Amethyst amplifies the energy of other stones by increasing their vibration.
Black Tourmaline
As a stone of protection, strength, and stability, Black Tourmaline corresponds to the Root chakra. However, it has the ability to clear the whole chakra system. By transmuting heavy energies into lighter vibrations, Tourmaline cleanses, heals, protects, purifies and removes blockages. It has the ability to clear fears, anxiety and other negative thoughts by balancing the left and right brain. Use to ward off unwanted energies as well as for electromagnetic protection. Clear Quartz
Although Clear Quartz corresponds to the Crown chakra, it has the ability to clear and realign all energy points in the body. As a stone that amplifies energy it expands on your intentions. It has the ability to heal through absorbing, purifying, and releasing energies. This clearing increases clarity, understanding and focus. Use Clear Quartz to cleanse other stones or metaphysical tools by placing it on top of or under the item. This powerful stone can dispel negativity and increases your aura. Fluorite
Corresponding to the Third Eye chakra fluorite expands the mind - sometimes suddenly! Just as the colors in the stone often mix and swirl together, Fluorite unifies and integrates energies. It promotes cooperation and unification among ideas, people and dimensions. Emotions are stabilized as they are integrated into a whole. As perspectives broadens, higher knowledge and understanding increases spiritual connection and intuition. Kyanite
Kyanite resonates high vibrational energy and amplifies it as well. For this reason, it correlates with the three upper chakras (throat, third eye and crown). Kyanite gently but swiftly connects you to the higher energies that you seek. It aides in otherworldly communication with your higher self, spirit guides, ancestors, angels and other realms. For this reason it is an effective aide in meditation and energetic attunement or ascension. Psychic ability increases while gentle understandings are facilitated. Positive effects on both the physical and energetic body will be noticed as this stone aligns and clears blockages from both. It grounds the physical body while raising up energetics. Rose Quartz
Corresponding with the Heart chakra, this stone is a heart opener on all levels. It works on frequencies of love for yourself and others. Sodalite
A powerful stone of communication, thought and understanding on all levels. Sodalite correlates to both the Throat and Third Eye chakras. It encourages you to speak your own truth as well as stand in your own truth. Emotional balance is instilled as you are guided to rationally handle emotions. As a result, the mind and its mental processes expand. Sodalite can aide in releasing old thought patterns, habits and conditioning. Tigers Eye
As a stone that relates to our vitality, willpower and inner strength, Tigers Eye correlates to the Solar Plexus Chakra. However, it has the ability to unify all the chakras and energy points within the body creating an integration of energy up and down the spinal cord. Kundalini energy is obtainable. The Prana or lifeforce is connected leading to a powerful surge of energy. This combination is grounding as well as uplifting. The energetic boost increases motivation, and creativity. It can alleviate depressing and increase overall mood and confidence. Tigers Eye can instill a sound mind increasing clarity and stability. Peacock Ore
Peacock Ore is a versatile and often over looked crystal. As represented by the multitude of colors can be reflected in this stone - it has the ability to unify and connect the chakras. It can often be used an an energetic "pick me up" as it can deliver an energetic boost that is both exciting and soothing. Peacock Ore can aid in manifestation, increase confidence as well as clear and deflect energy.
Green Aventurine
Corresponding with the Heart chakra, this stone often invokes a calming and soothing response. It absorbs heavy or dense energies, pulling them away from your body and energy fields. As a result, it increases emotional stability leaving space for tranquility. Green Aventurine promotes prosperity and abundance. This stone brings in "good luck" and "fortunate circumstances" by opening our mind and heart to the possibility.
